A native Alaskan Tlingit who comes from a family of artists, Nick Galanin draws on the traditional visual language of the Tlingit culture and mixes this with his own unique contemporary artistic stylings when creating these inimitable designs. He has a Bachelors degree in Jewelry Design and Silversmithing from the London Guildhall University in England and is currently completing his M.V.A in Indigenous Visual Arts at Massey University in New Zealand. The choker necklace features a hand-carved square eagle design, fashioned after the totemic patterns of Tlingit indians. This stunning piece of work is one to keep for generations.
